AOI Campus Expansion

Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. (AOI) is a leading provider of fiber-optic networking products. The markets they serve are internet data centers (Data Centers), Cable Television Broadband (CATV), and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH). With the increase of network-connected devices also comes the need for increased bandwidth. As such, AOI announced the expansion of their Sugar Land campus in early 2014. The expansion included new office and manufacturing buildings.

Brandt was hired to perform the MEPF Design directly for the owner and contracted with Skanska to build the project which consisted of A-Class 10,000 MOCVD building approximately 10,000 square feet, A-Class 100,000 laboratory approximately 50,000 square feet, and Administration Office Space totaling 50,000 square feet.
