Mary Kay R3 Manufacturing Facility and Research and Development Center

(LEWISVILLE, TEXAS) – Mary Kay Inc. built a new, U.S.-based global manufacturing and research and development (R&D) facility located in Lewisville, Texas. Named in honor of company co-founder, executive chairman and son of Mary Kay Ash, the Richard R. Rogers (R3) Manufacturing/R&D Center supports the global cosmetic company’s needs in producing skin care products, color cosmetics and fragrances for millions of Mary Kay brand lovers worldwide.

RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CENTER

During the transition from Mary Kay’s existing manufacturing facility, Brandt furnished and installed the following systems:

  • Instrumentation
  • High-purity valves
  • Process piping systems in the tank farm, processing areas, and packaging
  • Utility piping branches in the tank farm, processing areas, and packaging
  • Purified water system
MANUFACTURING FACILITY

Brandt completed the underground sanitary, storm drain, and volatile drain systems for the underground scope of work. In addition, our team installed all base-build systems including domestic water, process water, chilled water, heating hot water, processed chilled water, compressed air, vacuum, lab gases throughout the facility. This included installing and setting all plumbing fixtures used for water distribution and disposal.

Additionally, Brandt constructed the central utility plant and performed all plumbing and mechanical work. Our team set and ducted all air handler units on the roof, started up all mechanical equipment, and valved off all process required piping off the headers for transition to drop to the desired equipment. Brandt delivered a fully operating insulated system controlled by the building automation system.
